Senegalese Football Federation Wants CAF And FIFA To Investigate Referee Joseph Lamptey

The Senegalese Football Federation has confirmed in a statement that they have reported Joseph Lamptey to CAF and FIFA, they want the Ghanaian referee to be investigated Lamptey took charge of the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier between South Africa and Senegal at the Peter Mokaba Stadium earlier this month.

The Senegalese however, felt some of the decisions favoured the home side, including a dubious penalty which was awarded and scored by Bafana Bafana in the first half. They also complained about an offside call which went against them on the day. Bafana Bafana won the match 2-1, thanks to Thulani Hlatshwayo and Thulani Serero's first half goals.

Here is the full statement from the Senegal Football Federation (FSF):
"FSF have noted throughout the match biased or scandalous decisions that went in favor of the host team, which had a direct impact on the final score of the match, with the key to our defeate by 2 goals to 1, and the weakening of our position on the log for the qualification to the World Cup."
"There were many serious fouls experienced by our players which went unsanctioned as well as non-existent offside against us. The referee, against all odds, swung the match in favor the South African team on two suspicious occasiions that led to their two goals.

The FSF also took issue with the attitude of the referee for Bafana's second goal, "Just as reproachable as the first goal, to have validated this purpose after the South African players have continued to play so that he himself had stopped play for a free kick and imaginary mobilized around him both Senegal Idrissa Gana Gueye defensive midfielders and captain Cheikhou Kouyate to a verbal warning.

In this regard, taking into account the known the full details of that arbitrator who has already been the subject of sanctions for similar offenses, FSF invites the competent authorities of the CAF and FIFA if necessary, to take suitable measures and the need to open all necessary investigations to bring to light on his actions in that game.
