Offering
up the best look at Kong to date, the sizzle reel is a white-knuckle ride
through and through, chronicling the journey of Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson and their team of fellow
explorers as they venture onto the primordial isle.
It
isn’t long before things go awry, at which point John Goodman’s mysterious Monarch operative warns that monsters
are very, very real. Speaking of which, eagle-eyed viewers should be able to
spot a few nods to the clandestine organization, which neatly dovetails with
the narrative of Gareth Edwards’
Godzilla reboot from two years ago.
Kong:
Skull Island is set
to make its mighty debut on March 10, 2017, and aside from Hiddleston,
Larson and Goodman, the film stars Samuel
L. Jackson, Jing Tian, Corey
Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Shea Whigham and Toby Kebbell. It’ll mark the second chapter of Legendary and
Warner’s shared universe as well, with both Godzilla 2 and Godzilla
Vs. Kong tentatively pegged for 2018 and 2020, respectively.
