Syfy has officially slated Krypton for a premiere in 2018. The long-brewing Superman prequel
series, one hatched under David S.
Goyer and series showrunner Damian
Kindler has slowly flickered into life over the past two-to-three months,
rolling out one promo after another, all the
while beefing up its cast to include the likes of Georgina Campbell, Ian McElhinney, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo,
Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day and Aaron Pierre.
Krypton has now been ordered to series, too, which stands as an
exciting vote of confidence on Syfy’s part. Amid that noise, there have
been rumblings that Syfy would hold fire on its prequel series until 2018, and
sure enough, a post on the network’s official site confirms that Goyer and
Kindler’s spinoff won’t take flight until next year. The exact specifics of Krypton‘s release schedule remains a mystery for now,
but expect plenty more details to surface in the coming weeks and months.
