New Mutants Once Again Adds New Cast

New Mutants has found yet another cast member to play one of its central team of young X-Men. Blu Hunt has joined the movie as Danielle Moonstar/Mirage. The actress looks to be the final addition to the main ensemble, as the rest of the cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga and Rosario Dawson

In the comics, Dani Moonstar is a Native American mutant with a wide range of powers. At first, she had the ability to create illusions of her opponent’s fears and wishes. Later, she developed the power to shoot psionic energy arrows. She’s also served as a Valkyrie on Asgard, but it’s a fair bet we won’t see that part of her history adapted on the big screen, given that the Asgardian mythology rests with Marvel Studios.

Blu Hunt is the latest up and coming young star that Fox have snapped up for the movie. Likewise, she continues the trend of the studio casting actors who have so far made a splash on popular TV series but have not had much experience on the big screen.
