NBCU will hand over a reported $3.8 billion for the struggling studio, and will quickly move to put more Shrek chapters into production.

Instead, the duo will reteam for Trollhunters, the new animated fantasy series that has set up shop at Netflix. Perlman has joined the cast as Bular, a malicious troll that causes all manner of havoc for our leading hero, Jim. Also bound for the voice booth is Kelsey Grammer who, unlike Perlman, will lend his vocal chords to a friendly troll known as Blinky.

Ricky Gervais’ Office Spinoff Life On The Road Finds A Home At Netflix

 

David Brent is staging a comeback later this year via The Office spinoff Life on the Road, and it’s been revealed that Ricky Gervais’ faux-documentary will be distributed around the globe by Netflix.
Written and directed by Gervais, the funnyman confirmed those release plans while appearing on the Opie With Jim Norton Show pointing to Netflix’s built-in audience as a major factor. Anticipating the digital launch, Gervais stated, “I’d rather 20 million people see it than half a million people see it in cinemas, do you know what I mean? Because I want to do tours off the back of it. So for me, it’s great.”
