Christiano Ronaldo Makes History, Scores 501 Goals In 753 Games

Cristiano Ronaldo made history yesterday as he equals Raul Gonzalez goal scoring record of 323goals for Real Madrid and also created a landmark for himself of 501 goals in 753games.

It took Madrid Legend, Raul 741 matches to score that amount of goals, but Ronaldo has done it in just 308 games, scoring more than a goal per game since arriving at the club for a world record fee from Manchester United in 2009. Ronaldo who had not spoken publicly for six months until Wednesday night, "When I don’t speak with the press it’s because something’s not going well,"Everyone can think what they want. I don’t speak with the press more because the questions aren’t good, that’s why. Why do you ask about things that happened five or six months ago? He also added, " ask me about today, not things from a while ago. Why do I always have to speak? I am not obliged to speak. If I don’t speak, another [player] does."

He added: "I’m really happy to become the [joint] record goalscorer in the history of Madrid — it’s not something I expected when I arrived. I am satisfied with the record and I’ve already spoken with Raul. He phoned to say congratulations."
