“Funmi please leave whatever you are doing, I need you at my place right now, please it is very urgent” Adeleke said as he kept on staring at the package in front of him. Who could have dropped this here? How did they even enter my room? He tried touching it but he couldn’t because he was scared. At the moment when things were beginning to fall in place between him and Funmi then this occur, “can someone be playing jokes with me” he asked as he eagerly waited for Funmi’s arrival.

It was the last month of his final year in school, with just three more papers to go he would be a graduate, so he decided to take another chance with his heart and tell Funmi how he felt about her and also the main reason why he had rejected having sex with her. Ever since the night he had turned down her offer they have been very close, as matter of fact they became each other's confidant, there was nothing they could hide from each other, she felt very comfortable sleeping in his house while he had no problem giving her a spare key to his room just in case she might need to drop by anytime. Funmilayo personally made a vow within herself not to date anybody in school until Adeleke had graduated because she was hoping that one day he would definitely come ask her out. It was at that point when her hope was beginning to fade away that Adeleke also did the unthinkable, as he also decided to take another chance with his heart by asking her out.

He took her to a very nice restaurant some place away from the school environment though not that far from the school environment. He had told her he was going to take her out, said it was part of his graduation celebration, so after his paper that very day he went straight to her house, she was getting dressed when he got there and after waiting for fifteen minutes they headed out. “You are looking very gorgeous” he said. “Thank you very much” she replied.

They spoke about how their day had been while they await the waiter to come with what they have both ordered; he was taking fried rice and chicken while she was taking chicken and chips. After the meal before the waiter came back to clear the table, Adeleke had began to put his plans into motion, first of he said “I know that once am through with my papers I might not have alone time with you because the guys wouldn't always want us to hang out and you know how it is when we hang out, that's why I have decided to do this” referring to the date they were currently having. “I really want to appreciate you for being a very good friend to me, I mean knowing you as been more than a blessing to me though sometimes you can be so annoying but what can I say?, I still like you like that”. Smiling a little bit she also said “even though you too can be a pain in the neck, the truth is I am very glad I met someone like you, you have been more than a friend to me”.

As he was about to throw in the shocker of the day the waiter came to clear the table, he stared into her eyes as the waiter cleared the table and took his leave. “what I am about to say might sound strange giving what has transpired between us over time but I have given it proper thoughts and I think I am ready” he said.

Okay now you are sounding weird, what exactly did you give proper thoughts that you didn't tell me about” she said as she smiled to him.

I needed to be sure, remember what happened that night that you first came to sleep over at my place? He asked.

Do you mean the night you lied about not being in the mood? She said back.

Yes that night, the real reason why I didn't accept your advances was the fact that I was in love with you and if I had made love with you we won’t be here today having this conversation” he said.

With a very confusing tone she asked “what do you mean you were in love with me

See Funmi the truth of the matter is that I am in love with you, I have always been in love with you but I didn't notice it till the night I reject you”. Ever since Tutu broke my heart every other relationship I go into ends once I have sex with them and all those while you kept friend zoning me, I was actually falling in love with you but I didn't notice till that very night” he said.

So why did it take you this long to admit it? She asked

I was scared, I wasn't sure if I could risk getting hurt but now I am ready to take a chance with my heart that’s if and only if you would be my girlfriend”. And there was it, he finally said it and from that moment onward then became the latest couple in town.

All that happiness and joyfulness changed when Tutu returned with a very surprising and confusing package. She had always had a spare key to Adeleke room and he had also called Adeleke two weeks before that very day just to greet him. Adeleke was actually with Funmilayo when she called and immediately she said “hello it's Tutu” he kept the phone on speaker so Funmilayo could hear their conversation.

It's been close to two years when he last heard from her and out of the bloom there he was receiving her call. “I know you must have a lot of questions to ask but today isn’t the day I just called to say hi, do take care of yourself”, that was all she said.

So she still has your number?” Funmi said after the call. “I am as surprise as you are” he replied. The call was just tip of the ice berg of the surprise he got from Tutu.

Thank God you are here” he said as he opened the door for her. Trying to figure out what would have made him so nervous Funmi asked “what is the problem, why are you sounding so worried? Funmi asked as her eye came across the package beside the bed.

why won’t I be nervous in fact I am more than nervous, I was planning to come home relax for a while before going to the field instead I came home and I found this” he said as he pointed to the strollers that was beside the bed.

What is this and how did it get here? He added. “I am sure you know what it is but how it got here that I can’t say” Funmilayo said. “Have you taken a look at it? She asked.

"take a look at what?, I came home to find something like this and you are asking if I have taken a look at it, if I have trust me you won’t meet it here

Remember when I said I am doing this for you, well this is what I did for you”. Funmi read out what was written on a piece of paper she saw inside the strollers. "Oh my God: He shouted right before he added “I swear to God I will kill you when next I see you”

How are you so sure she is the one? Funmi asked.

Who else could it be?, yes I have slept with a lot of girls but only one broke up with me for no reason with the excuse of I am doing this for you”. What is she doing for me? How is this helping me? He said.

Funmi moved close to him and sat him down on the bed as she tried to calm him down. “Look I know exactly how you feel right now and you have every right to, but being mad won’t solve the problem, we need to figure out how to deal with this

No Funmi I can’t involve you in this, this is my mess and I would clean it up”.

Your mess is my mess, perhaps you called me here remember?, that means you need my help. She said

“So what do you suggest I do then? He asked. And just like that they both started to plan what they were going to do with that package.

In as much as he was still very much shocked and irritated over what Tutu had done, he was cheerful with the fact that Funmilayo stood by him. Every little step he took in solving the problem Tutu brought, Funmi was there, she was very supportive even though she said she wasn't happy about the whole situation yet she didn't because of that abscond him. what really made him more delightful was when Funmi proposed that she should keep the baby, since Adeleke couldn’t take the baby home and she still has two more years to use in school (that if no strike should occur again), keeping the baby with her wouldn’t be a bad idea.

“You can’t be serious I mean what if school goes on holiday won’t you go home? He asked her when she made that suggestion.

Just so you know I hardly go home when school is on holiday and if the need be that I have to go home then I would take her along. By the way we need to give her a name since her mother didn't include that in the paper” she said. “I think we should call her Kikelomo”

All Adeleke could do was to stare in bewilderment on how Funmi could be so cool about all that has happened. “I honestly don't know what to say, Funmi this is more than I can ask for, how would I ever pay you back for this?” he said.

“Well that is simple, don't ever cheat on me and don't stop loving me because the sole reason why I am doing all this is because I love you” she said.

Just like they had planned it, Adeleke worked his service to Ibadan, a city that is close to Funmi and the baby and at the end of every month he would come to school to check on Funmi and the baby. In between those times, Adeleke had told his elder brother about the baby though the brother never saw the baby until a day to his wedding. It was that same day that he introduced Funmilayo to him and his brother thanked her for everything she had been doing concerning the baby. His brother told Adeleke not to worry that after his wedding they would all sit down and discuss how they would table the matter to their parent.

It was as if the earth should stand still when Funmilayo whispered these words into his ears “have you seen her?, she just walked in with a guy like that”.

Who just walked in? He asked. On hearing her name he bounce off the chair he was seated and said “where is she, where is that devil? .

Come on what is wrong with you, have you forgetting this is your brother’s wedding, please I beg of you don't make a scene” Funmi said right before she whispered what they were going to do to his ears and after hearing what she said he sat down back quietly.
