Three killed as gunmen attack banks in Iseyin

Exchange of gunshots between the police and some dare-devil robbers, Wednesday, at Iseyin, Oyo State led to the death of three persons , including two traffic wardens.
The robbers numbering 25 were said to have attacked some commercial banks in the sleepy town around 9.30am but were confronted by policemen.
Among the injured in the 45 minutes operation was a mechanic who was said to have been hit by stray bullet.
The policemen were said to have fought therobbers to a standstill.
At the end of the gun duel, a robber was killed, while another was arrested with bullet wounds.
The robbers were said to have besieged thetown, shooting sporadically to scare people away.
The hoodlums, before gaining entry into one of the banks , were said to have used explosives to force the security doors open.
After this, it was gathered that customers and staff of the first generation bank were held hostage. The two traffic wardens allegedly killed were said to be on duty at a nearby junction.
After successfully robbing the first bank, therobbers were reportedly heading to another bank when the police engaged them in a gun duel.
