Chriatianity And Politics

Hi viewers, this is an article I wrote sometimes ago about Christianity and Politics. Please read the article and i also like to hear your view on it.

I have found out that most times people tend not to know if there exist a correlation between politics and Christianity or not. Better said as are Christians suppose to be involved in politics or not. This article will enlighten you on this topic and bring us to a conclusion about the matter.
Firstly, I have to say that in this part of the world especially in Nigeria, we have given the word POLITICS a wrong meaning. We tend to see politics as anything that is concerned with corruption. Meanwhile, the literal meaning of politics is anything that as to do with the way a state or country is being ruled. The Oxford dictionary defines politics as “all activities concerned with governing, ruling and heading a state. In this definition, as far as I know doesn’t have any word that depicts corruption.
Secondly, the dictionary also defines Christianity as “the religion based on the teachings, works and doctrines of Christ.
Thirdly, let’s talk a little about Christ; Jesus Christ is the son of the Almighty who came to the earth to die for our sins and make us perfect in Him. If God is the Almighty and rules over the whole earth, this means as His followers we are suppose to rule too because Christ is not against us ruling, rather He has commanded us to dwell, to be fruitful, multiply and dominate the whole earth. Christians are to be the head and not the tail, we are suppose to rule and not be ruled.
With this I see no reason why Christians shouldn’t be allow to play their role in politics and we should know that God created everyone for a purpose, there are people who are made to be governors, presidents and so on or would a Christian who goes into politics and run his political race religiously go to hell?, or does it mean that mere studying political science in the university makes you a sinner and will go to hell?. If your answers are NO, then you would agree with me that there is no big deal in Christians going into politics but where the problem lies is being able to live the political life religiously. We also know that it’s hard to live politically religious because of corruption but we should also know that corruption is everywhere; it’s in politics, business organizations and also in churches so why link corruption with politics alone?
Some of the benefits of a Christians governing a state are that it draws the interest of God to that state, it can also be used as a medium of winning souls for Christ, the state ruled by Christians will experience abundance, reduction in corruption because of the fear of God, and so on.

In conclusion, there is a strong correlation between politics and Christianity and I like to say that just a biro and paper cannot say all about this topic but I like to end here with a question, do you want to rule or want to be ruled?
