Bartomeu Re-Elected As Barcelona President

52 years old Josep Maria Bartomeu has been re-elected has Barcelona President which means he would run the affairs of the club for next six years.
Bartomeu was able to see off the challenge from Joan Laporta who came second with a 33.03% compared to Bartomeu 54.63%.

Bartomeu who became Barca interim President in 2014 after the resignation of Sandro Rosell, placed a lot of importance on keeping the current sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways which generates €50 million for the club per season in place, despite being seen as controversial by many, he was the only one among the four final candidates that made such pledge.

Despite having a fantastic season where his team lead by Luis Enrique won the treble, Bartomeu has been a figure of controversy at Camp Nou, he had previous worked alongside Rosell during an unstable time for the club, as they were been accused of various indiscretions part of which involved the Neymar transfer and also the transfer ban for them breaking the regulations regarding signing youth players. 

Barca confirmed that 47,270 votes were cast in total and report says that Bartomeu was able to get many fans to vote for him due to his close working relationship with Luis Enrique.
