Serena About To Make History

Serena Williams is set to make another record as she is in top form in winning her fourth straight consecutive Grand Slam at the Wimbledon tournament after defeating Maria Sharapova which now makes it 11 years without a loss to Sharapova.
Williams who's first real hurdle was defeating her elder sister at the quarter final round would now face world No 20 Garbine Mugurza after recording a 6-2 6-4 win over Sharapova making it her 17th consecutive victory over her. Serena who is a five time Wimbledon winner has been dominating over Sharapova since 2004 which was the last time Sharapova recorded a win over her. Garbine Mugurza who defeated Agnieszka Radwanska in her own semi final match has now set up a date with current French Open champion and would be hoping to cause a major upset against the world No 1.

Sharapova started poorly and she couldn’t recover, Serena breaking Sharapova serves in the very first game was a worrying sign of things to come as the Russian courageously tried to fight back in the next game as she hit an ace and showed some deft play at the net to get on the score board. With two aces and three brutal serves Serena was already 3-1 up before she broke again to gain much upper hand as she powered Sharapova serve past her.

Serena was getting close to victory when she lost two break points which allowed Sharapova to escape with her serve intact and just a 4-3 deficit. Still with that it was only a matter of time as Serena finally completed the job with her next service game and now she has set up a sixth opportunity to be crowned Wimbledon champion.
