In keeping up with its mantra to create new and exciting firsts in the world of technology, MTN Nigeria, Africa’s leading ICT Company, recently launched a partnership with Google, Infinix and Jumia to launch the first phone with Android One software in Africa.
The company which has always been at the forefront of innovation by always partnering with the very best in the ICT industry launched the software by providing each Android One phone with 1GB data at N500 only.
The new Android One smartphone called Infinix HOT 2 offers a high-quality experience, with a fast quad-core MediaTek processor, dual SIM slots, front and rear-facing cameras, a FM radio tuner, and 16GB internal memory.
The phone also comes with with 1GB data at N500 only from MTN and runs the latest version of Android (Lollipop 5.1), which provides up to 2x better performance and extended battery features and it would automatically get upgraded to the next version of Android.
The standard version, with 1GB memory, is available in black, white, blue and red, and the premium version (with 2GB memory) is available in gold.
During the launch event at The Landmark Centre in Lekki, Lagos on Tuesday, guests including, the media, developers, enthusiasts within the tech community, and consumers alike were invited to get a first-hand experience of the new Android One smartphone and software from Google.
The phone is available in Nigeria at select retail outlets, MTN Stores nationwide and
via online retailer Jumia at a retail price of N19,500.
