JOSE MOURINHO has launched into another extraordinary attack on
Arsene Wenger – calling the Arsenal boss
as the only manager who can get away with criticising referees, and who is not
under pressure.
After defeating Wenger’s team in a controversial game last week,
the game had gunners defender Gabriel sent off, only to have his red card later
rescinded and Chelsea striker Diego Costa banned for three games, Mourinho let
rip again.
The pair have a history of bust ups, and last October an
infuriated Wenger pushed Mourinho in the technical area at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho, whose side face Newcastle on Saturday, Mourinho Spoke and
refused to actually name Wenger, but there was no doubt who he was talking
about as he said, I quote "In this country, only one manager is not under
pressure. Every other manager is, I am under pressure, Steve McClaren is under
pressure, Manuel Pellegrini is under pressure, Brendan Rodgers too. We have to
meet the objectives. I have sympathy with all of them, because it's a difficult
job. There's one outside that list, but good for him.” Asked who he meant,
Mourinho said: “You know. The one who can speak about the referees before the
game, after the game, can push people in the technical area, can moan, can cry
in the morning, in the afternoon.
Mourinho added: “In the
rules book it says some managers can speak about the referees before and after
games. Some others cannot.”
“ I am in the list of those who are punished if they speak about
the referees before the game. I have to stick to that rule book.“You know that
some can. It is an imaginary list, but clearly it is there.”
