1. He started playing football
professionally at the age of seventeen for the then (Akwa Ibom stars).
2. He was born in Kaduna, but
his parents hail from Akwa Ibom state.
3. He is the most capped
player for the Nigerian Super Eagles,with 101 caps, one more than Joseph Yobo,
after 13years of international football.
4. He had his debut for
Nigeria in an international friendly against Kenya with Nigeria winning by
three goals to nil on the 4th of May, 2002 with the goals from Pascal Ojigwe, Femi
Opabunmi and Wilson Oruma.
5. He is the first Nigeria
goalkeeper to stand in between the post for Lille OSC of France.
6. He is the first African
Goalkeeper to win back to back player of the month in the French league (October
and November 2014) player of the year in the Isreali League (2009)
7. He's the only Nigerian
goal keeper to have made it to three world cup tournaments.
8. He lead Enyimba to the CAF
Champions League twice, winning it back to back (2003, 2004) before leaving to Iwuanyanwu
Nationale (now known as Heartland F.C.).
9. He's the only Nigerian to
have won the Israeli Premier League for two different teams in Israel ( Hapoel
Tel-Aviv 2009/10, Maccabi Tel-Aviv 2012/13)
10. Enyeama, upon his
retirement is the first choice goal keeper of Nigeria and Lille OSC of France
and will be remembered for his heroics against Argentina in the 2010 world cup
in South Africa stopping the then World best Lionel Messi from scoring on several
occasions, which resulted to a huge praise from the Coach of Argentina Diego
Maradona.
