Denzel Washington to Receive Golden Globes’ Cecil B. DeMille Award

 
At the Golden Globes next year, Actor Denzel Washington would be receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award, as he has been named the recipient of the annual award.

The two-time Golden Globe winner and star of of the upcoming “The Magnificent Seven” will collect the prize January 10, 2016 on NBC’s live broadcast, hosted by Ricky Gervais. Washington boasts a full mantle with two Academy Award wins, a Tony, an NAACP Image Award and two primetime Emmy nominations

Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Lorenzo Soria had this to say in a statement “Washington’s long and storied career is earmarked by his countless roles in front and behind the camera. It is the HFPA’s privilege to honor his contributions to the entertainment industry with the Cecil B. DeMille Award

Denzel Washington would now be joining the likes of George Clooney, Woody Allen, Jodie Foster and Morgan Freeman who are recent recipients of the trophy.
