Over 30 Killed As Boko Haram Attacks Yola Again

Bombing
Reports from Yola, the Adamawa state capital, where suspected Boko Haram terrorists struck yesterday, have it that over 30 persons were killed in the blast and about 80 others injured.
The explosion was said to have occurred in the Jambutu area of the capital.
According to Vanguard, Sa’ad Bello, the Yola coordinator for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), said: “So far, we’ve recorded about 32 dead and about 80 injured.”
As soon as the blast occurred, Naij.com had reported it thus:
Reports have it that an explosion which occurred in a bus terminus in Yola, the Adamawa state capital on Tuesday, November 17, has killed many people.
Although nobody has claimed responsibility for this attack, it is believed to have been carried out by Boko Haram insurgents who have raided the northeastern part of Nigeria, killing over two thousand people since their attacks began over two years ago.
According to The Cable, Hamman Furo, executive secretary of Adamawa state emergency management agency, confirmed that, “We are currently assessing the situation, and we would be busy for the next one hour.”
Reports say the bombing occurred at about 7.30pm on Tuesday as another witness, Mohammed Danasabe, in a chat with Premium Times, disclosed that the explosion was so loud it could be heard all over the city.
“I am currently at the scene and we are helping to evacuate injured to the Hospital, there are many dead bodies all over the place,” he was quoted to have said.
It was also gathered that the explosion was targeted at traders who were rushing home after the day’s work close to the market in the area.
Another witness, Aliyu Maikano of the Red Cross and some other residents said the area targeted was a lorry park which also houses a livestock market, an open-air restaurant and a mosque.
Maikano said: “Victims could be lying all over the place.”
This new development is sure to unsettle the Nigerian Military who have recently recorded major successes in their battle against the insurgents.
