Brooke McCarter Dies at 52

Brooke McCarter, who played the vampire Paul in “The Lost Boys,” died on Tuesday. His family made the announcement on Facebook, saying that the actor died from a genetic liver condition.

56 years old McCarter, who had also appeared in TV shows “The Twilight Zone” and “Route 66,” appeared in the movie “Wired,” a biopic about John Belushi starring Michael Chiklis which was his last movie.

According to McCarter’s website, he left Hollywood in 1998 to pursue a career in the telecommunications industry. Throughout the years, he continued to appear at horror conventions to take pictures with fans of “Lost Boys,” the 1980s classic that co-starred Jason Patrick, Kiefer Sutherland and Corey Haim.
