Raul Eyes Real Madrid Return

Real Madrid legend Raul is eyeing a return to e club tand says he is willing to take on a role at boardroom level if a coaching opportunity at the Santiago Bernabeu does not arise.

Raul made 741 appearances for Real, scoring 323 goals for the club from 1994 until 2010, he ended his career in the United States with New York Cosmos in 2015, via spells in Germany and Qatar with Schalke and Al Sadd respectively, and is now a La Liga advisor to the United States.

Raul told El Larguero “I do not rule out any position in football, not even the president. Having a successful career as a player does not ensure that you will be a good coach, I have to prepare myself. Madrid have always kept their doors open and I have a good relationship with the president. It is I who has taken the decision on remain in New York. There will be a time to return to Real Madrid but I'm in the right place. I am still thinking of Real Madrid and I hope they continue winning titles”.

Raul also backed the appointment of former Madrid team-mate Zinedine Zidane as manager of the club until at least the end of the season, as the ex-Madrid striker believes Zidane's presence makes Champions League victory more likely. With Zidane the team will have many more options to win important things like La Liga and the Champions League” Raul said
