What You Should Learn From The Davido's Baby Mama Drama

In the last 72 hours or thereabout, the whole internet atmosphere in Nigeria went haywire because of just one artiste which is Davido.
First, fans were not happy about him missing the Olic2 concert and as expected they took to social media to express their displeasure but that displeasure didn't trend much as Davido gave them a new topic to go gaga about and that was the issue between him and his baby mama. By now we all know the gist so I won’t waste time going into it but for those they were probably in an area where network wasn't available let just summary it for you.

Davido had plan of taking his daughter out of the country for medical reason but was stopped by the immigration officers because Mr. Dele Momodu the uncle of Davido's baby mama had alerted the officers that the consent of the mother was not given therefore it is illegal to take a child out of the country without the mother's consent.  The next step Sophia and her uncle took was to file a petition against Davido accusing him of attempted abduction and trafficking their child out of the country.  It was when the press released this petition that the whole twitter rant by Davido started, as Mr Dele Momodu also told his own story too via that platform. Before I go into what lesson we should learn from this, let me quickly say this, I sincerely feel for Davido not probably because he is innocent but because I understand the pain he his passing through. Like we all know fame comes with a price, being a star isn’t as easy as it seems and if your stardom isn’t properly handled this are the kind of things that would happen. Davido wouldn’t be the first person to be in this kind of situation, I mean the baby mama syndrome but lack of proper handling has led him to this mess. Let's take 2face for example, he had three baby mamas at a point before he finally settled down with one, now this issue almost wreck 2face’s career as his baby mama’s were giving him issue and he couldn’t concentrate on his music but he was able to handle the situation and found the right balance. Another example is Wande Coal who said he didn't even know he had a kid until the child was two years old and after he learnt about it he had to quit music for a while just to sort out things. Why I feel for Davido is the fact this whole drama would put a very negative effect on his celebrity imagine, making him look bad, like he would be the only person that has a baby mama forgetting that the difference between him and Wizkid or Flavour is the way they handled their baby mama drama.

There is a saying that goes does “don't bite more than you can chew”, if you knew from the onset that Sophia wasn't the kind of girl you could marry why get her pregnant in the first place? Although Davido said he was 21 when he met Sophia and that was two years ago, he claimed that she took advantage of his youthfulness but the real question I would ask Davido is this, when exactly did Sophia take advantage of youthfulness because judging from the age of your daughter which is 7 months old you probably got Sophia pregnant when you were 22 years that is last two years (2014) because now became 23 in 2015. So when exactly did she take advantage of you and what do you mean by that? The only way she must have taken advantage of you was that if the first night you guys met she tricked you into having sex with her without protection and some month later she got pregnant then you have a case but meeting someone when you where 21 and getting her pregnant when you were 22? then I am sorry to say you clearly knew what you were doing, you wanted to bite what you couldn’t chew or like Omawunmi said in one of her song “you wan climb tree wey old men they look from afar”.

To every guy that is out there most especially the youth, don't get a girl pregnant if you know that she is not going to be your wife or qualify for that status like Davido said. Before having sex with a girl most especially unprotected sex, think about the consequences and ask yourself if you can live with whatever consequence comes out of it. A girl can never take advantage of a guy when it comes to sex unless the girl raped you, sex if is mutual agreement between two parties, meaning both parties have to be interested for whatever reasons. If you know you are too young to deal with the aftermath of what would come after sex then stay the f*** away because no girl I repeat no girl can take advantage of a guy when it comes to sex matter unless na rape or she drug you.

Now to the girls please and please I beg you Baby Mama is not the new way to make heaven or that is not what God meant when he said go into the world and multiple. I know a lot of ladies are willing to get pregnant for a star knowing fully that they might not end up marrying the star but because they just want to be related to the star they wouldn’t mind having his baby. I won’t say you should stop having sex because that is not even possible even make Jesus come talk am now people would still have sex but I can say this don't f**ing get pregnant for someone that you know your chances of marrying is slim.  Sophia must have known that marrying Davido wasn't going to be possible because she is older than him and no true African man would marry a woman that is older than him forget say Darey do am. So the question for Sophia too is what kind of relationship was she expecting from Davido? was it something more of a celebrity girlfriend or just want to be a baby mama.

There use to be a time where getting pregnant and not getting married was a big shame in our society, as a matter of fact it was more disgraceful that ladies and girls were being disowned by their parents but nowadays some parent are even advising their daughter to get pregnant for someone because of his money, thinking if you get pregnant he would have no choice than to marry you. Let us be candid the only reason why Sophia stool so low to have sex with Davido was because he is a celeb and also omo baba olowo and that must have probably been the reason why she also got pregnant for him that's if we are to believe that she took advantage of Davido meaning she was the one forcing or seducing Davido into having sex with him and once she got pregnant she felt like she had hit the jackpot. She even hit the jackpot more because she got 300,00 thousand naira every month, 2 years rent paid in Lekki, a car in the waiting and she is just a baby mama abeg na confirm jackpot be that.

I would end this by saying “ladies should wise up and stop this new trend of baby mama and guys if you aren't ready to father a child with a woman then don't sleep with her without protection.
