Lobi Stars Visit Family Of Deceased Fan

Mike Idoko Lobi Stars’ Vice Chairman has revealed that the Pride of Benue will play active role during the burial of one of their fans, Gabriel Ogbaji who slumped and died during their NPFL Week 8 tie against Enugu Rangers on Wednesday slated for the end of April.

Ogbaji was said to have suffered from cardiac arrest as a result of shock when he was celebrating the opening goal of Lobi Stars in the tension soak affair against Rangers at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi. He was given first aid treatment aimed at reviving him before he was transferred to a nearby clinic where he was confirmed dead.

Idoko confirmed that top officials of the club have visited the family of the deceased to pay a condolence call and that they have promised to support the family during the burial ceremony slated for the end of next month. He said “It was with great shock we received the death of Gabriel Ogbaji who slumped and died on Wednesday during our home game with Enugu Rangers. I must admit that the game was tension soaked and that the intensity of the league game must have affected him when we scored the opening goal after the high tempo way the visitors started the game. He was our very faithful fan and we are very saddened about his death. It overshadowed our celebration after the win over Rangers. We are going to try our best to contribute our quota during his burial. He supported the club for many years and was even with his two sons on Wednesday when the unfortunate incidence happened. We have also gone to pay the family of the deceased a condolence visit
