Nabil Bentaleb Facing Six Weeks Out

Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb will miss at least six weeks after undergoing knee surgery. The Algeria international was injured during a 3-0 U21s win over Leicester last Friday, and was substituted.

Bentaleb is expected to return to training before the end of the season, with the club hopeful the 21years old could be available in time to face Southampton and Newcastle in their final two matches of the season. The club said via Twitter “The expected recovery and rehabilitation is likely to see him return to training in approximately six weeks”.

It has been an injury-hit season for Bentaleb, who has managed just five Premier League appearances all season. He started twice in August, before an ankle injury ruled him out for three months. That was after he had become a key figure for Tottenham last season, starting 25 times in the league.
