Gael Clichy Trains Wearing Altitude Mask

 
Gael Clichy has stepped up his bid to be fit for next week’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid in a new state-of-the-art altitude mask. City host Zinedine Zindane’s team at the Etihad Stadium next week with the return on Wednesday, May 4 but Clichy is facing a race against time to be fit for the crunch clashes against Cristiano Ronaldo and Co due to a back injury.

However, the left-back has stepped up his recovery using an ultramodern face mask, made by UAE-based firm Altitude Mask.The piece of kit, which replicates high altitude conditions, has been used by a host of high-profile sports stars as they look for a vital edge in their training regimes. Clichy appeared in a short video posted to social media on Wednesday completing sprints wearing the altitude mask at City's state of the art training complex. Saif Rubie, a partner in Dubai-based company Altitude Mask, shared the clip on Twitter and wrote: “Glad Gael Clichy is getting ready for Gareth Bale and Co using his Altitude Mask

Manchester City, who first face Stoke at the Etihad this weekend, defied the odds to seal their progression to their first ever Champions League semi-final when they beat Paris Saint-Germain in the previous round, but the Spanish giants are another step up in quality. Manuel Pellegrini's side will have perform better that they did on Tuesday night when they were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened Newcastle at St James' Park.
