Women's Super League To Be Completed Using 2015-16 Laws Of The Game

The Women's Super League will continue to be played under the 2015-16 Laws of the Game, the Football Association have announced. The International Football Association Board (IFAB) announced last month their intentions to change the laws following a comprehensive, 18-month review, led by former English Premier League referee David Elleray.

Notable changes include allowing quick treatment for players on the field, as well as extending the powers of referees to dismiss players prior to kick-off, and a modification of the triple punishment red card rule.

England's Lionesses have already utilised the kick-off rule change, with Fara Williams taking a single kick backwards to commence play in the 7-0 win over Serbia at Adams Park at the beginning of the month but the FA have elected against implementing IFAB's rule changes across the FA WSL immediately as the season began prior to the June 1 date the new rules came in.
