Sam Allardyce Is A Good Appointment

England's all-time leading goalscorer Wayne Rooney thinks Sam Allardyce will be a good appointment as manager. Rooney, who captained the team under former boss Roy Hodgson, has reiterated that there is no question of him retiring from the international game.

Allardyce's appointment was confirmed on Friday and the experienced manager has been handed an initial two-year deal and Manchester United forward Rooney thinks the FA have made the right call in turning to the former Sunderland boss.

Rooney said “Yeah, I think it's a good appointment for England. He will probably bring a different way of playing to England, and hopefully it's a good way and we can be successful under him. I only know him through teams he has managed. I have seen him a few times off the pitch, but it's like everyone, I know him through the teams in the Premier League.”
