The Secrecy Surrounding Star Wars: Episode VIII Is Annoying And Intrusive

Mark Hamill fielded questions from eager fans who were curious to learn more about his role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII. Obviously, he couldn’t say a whole lot, but he did agree with the fact that the vast amount of secrecy surrounding the film is annoying.

He said “It can be annoying and intrusive, you get the call sheets and there are no names – only numbers! I really loved number eleven’s work on their previous film. They’re not doing it to annoy you though, they just want the surprise to be in the movie theater, not the internet. It’s for your viewing pleasure that we do this. It can get out of control with the pages that get shredded,” he added. “I need a script you can write on and take home and read! So they let me have a scene I can keep.

Among other things, he also mentioned that director Rian Johnson is a genius and that the film will have a ton of quotable dialogue. Not only that, but he suspects that a number of the lines will end up on future merchandise.
