Jessica Chastain Stars In Miss Sloane

Jessica Chastain will be flying the flag for tighter gun control in John Madden’s Oscar-tipped drama, Miss Sloane. Aligned to drop directly into the thick of awards season in December, Entertainment Weekly has showcased our first look at Chastain’s new collaboration with Madden as the Oscar-nominated actress pushes for a background-check bill in the US Senate.

Chastain told said that Miss Sloaneis about the pursuit of a goal and the pressures that are brought to bear, and it’s properly thrilling in ways you don’t expect. And it pays very close attention to the people who work in this world. Gun control is divisive because some people are immediately afraid that it’s a kind of confiscation. And people who hear that in regards to this film will think it’s a plant to move them in one direction. It’s not.”

Taking point as a character “notorious for her unparalleled talent and her desire to win at all costs,” the upcoming drama certainly presents the actress with a meaty role to sink her teeth into, and we can hardly wait to see Chastain walk Washington’s corridors of power as Miss Sloane come December.

Also starring Mark Strong, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Stuhlbarg, Alison Pill, Jake Lacy, John Lithgow, and Sam Waterston, Miss Sloane takes on the timely matter of gun control head on when Madden’s prescient drama opens on December 9.
