Second Medal Stripped Of From Russia

Russia have been stripped of a second relay medal from the 2008 Olympics as a result of retrospective dope testing. Samples taken from three Russian athletes in Beijing eight years ago have returned positive results on re-testing.

Among them is Anastasiya Kapachinskaya, who was part of the 4x400m team that won silver at the Games. Belarus finished fourth and could be bumped up to the bronze medal position, with third-placed Jamaica in line for silver.

Earlier this week Russia's 4x100m women's team were stripped of their gold medals from Beijing after re-analysis of a Yulia Chermoshanskaya sample. Decathlete Alexander Pogorelov, who finished fourth in 2008, and shot putter Ivan Yushokov are the other athletes disqualified retrospectively.
