New Luke Cage Clip

 

The latest collaboration between Marvel and Netflix, Luke Cage, has been getting rave reviews, and is regarded by many critics as one of the best superhero TV shows yet. In the buildup to the premiere later this month, we’ve had a new trailer, some sneak peeks and a couple of featurettes release. Now, we have a new clip which spotlights the main villain of the piece, Cornell Stokes, A.K.A. Cottonmouth.

The Marvel Comics version of Cottonmouth sports rows of razor-sharp fangs and is about on par with Cage when it comes to strength. From what we’ve seen so far, it doesn’t seem like this small-screen take on the character is going to be gifted with any superhuman abilities – but that doesn’t mean he won’t be wielding any power.

In the clip below, we see Stokes reference his painting of late rapper Biggie Smalls before delivering a vicious slap to an unfortunate underling that clearly got on his bad side. Also starring Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley, Erik LaRay Harvey, Rosario Dawson, Frankie Faison, and Alfre Woodard, all thirteen episodes of Luke Cage will be available to stream on Netflix from September 30.
