City Of London Police Review The Daily Telegraph's Evidence

City of London police have begun a review into the Daily Telegraph's recent revelations to determine whether any criminal activity has taken place. The newspaper has now shared all of its evidence following a 10-month investigation, which resulted in Sam Allardyce's reign as England manager coming to an end after just 67 days.

There were also allegations made against Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Tommy Wright, Eric Black and Harry Redknapp.

A Football Association statement released on Thursday evening said: “The FA today met with City of London police. The police confirmed that the Daily Telegraph has now shared all relevant materials with the police alone and that a review has begun to assess any potential criminal activity. The FA awaits an update on this review at the earliest opportunity and will not be able to access the materials while this process is continuing. At the appropriate point, we are keen to ensure the releasing of materials from the Daily Telegraph is expedited in line with our repeated request for full disclosure.”
