Evangeline Lilly Talks Avengers 4

Evangeline Lilly first appeared as Hope Van Dyne in 2015’s Ant-Man, and while fans were disappointed not to see her suit up as The Wasp, the movie’s mid-credits scene perfectly teased her ultimately suiting up as the hero somewhere down the line. Of course, since then, we’ve learned that she’ll take on a leading role in 2018’s Ant-Man and The Wasp.

While Marvel did at one point consider adding The Wasp to Captain America: Civil War, Lilly revealed at the New York Comic-Con this weekend that the big reveal of Hope taking over that mantle and donning the costume is actually being held back for Ant-Man and The Wasp. As a result, that means we won’t see her make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.

She said “I’m excited because its essentially going to be the origin of the Wasp. Of course, we’re going to see the Wasp for the first time take on the mantle, and put on the suit, and fly about, and do her thing. Following that one, there’s an Avengers series coming out, I believe its a two-parter, and the Wasp won’t be in the first part, she’ll be in the second part because they want to preserve that reveal for Ant-Man and the Wasp.”
