Goalkeeper, Sunday Rotimi was on Saturday named as Rivers United Most Valuable Player,
MVP, for the concluded 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL,
season. Rotimi, a former Super Eagles goalkeeper has spent close to 13 seasons
with the Pride of Rivers.
During a
reception dinner by Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, in honour of the club for picking a CAF Champions
League ticket for next season at Bricks House, Government House Port Harcourt,
striker Bernard Ovoke was named as
the club's Top Scorer. Ovoke scored 11 goals in all competitions for the club
in the outgone season, nine in the league and two in the Federation Cup.
Festus Austin, Captain of the club, was named as
the Most Disciplined and Dedicated player of the club during the concluded NPFL
season. Christian Weli was named as
Most Consistent Player the CAF Champions League bound team, while Fredrick Obomate was named as the Best
Home grown player of the club in the 2015/2016 domestic season
