Manchester City have praised Kelechi Iheanacho's performance in
Super Eagles' 3-1 win against Algeria in a 2018 FIFA World Cup
qualifier on Saturday. Iheanacho featured for 90 minutes for the Eagles
and went close on a few occasions but couldn't put the ball into the back
of the net.
In a review
of their players who were on international duties, City remarked on their
official website that despite Iheanacho failing to get on the score sheet, the
youngster gave a good account of himself.
“Kelechi Iheanachi's chances to score in
Nigeria’s 3-1 win over Algerian were few and far between, but the City striker
still gave a solid display, playing the full 90 minutes. Chelsea’s Victor Moses
(2) and John Obi Mikel scored the
Super Eagles’ goals to put them in command of their World Cup Qualifying group.”
