Nigeria
national beach soccer team, Super Sand Eagles took some tutorials in the
beach game Sunday night when they were humbled 8-3 by their
Switzerland counterparts in the one-day 2016 COPA Lagos tournament at Eko
Atlantic Beach.
The
Nigerians went into the game with high hopes, taking a deserved 2-0 first
quarter lead. The Europeans returned in the second period and cancelled out the
deficit and even took a commanding 5-3 lead going into the final quarter. It
turned out a one-way traffic for the visitors as they dominated the last
quarter, scoring three more goals to leave the final scores at 8-3.
For the
Super Sand Eagles, it was a reality check as they get set for the CAF Beach
Soccer Nations Cup qualifiers slated for the same venue on December 13. The December
13 CAF Beach Soccer Nations Cup qualifiers will also serve as avenue to
select Africa's representatives in next year's FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
