An Episode Of Iron Fist Will Be Directed By RZA.

Now, as we draw closer to the premiere of Iron Fist, we’re starting to learn more and more about it. Not too long ago, we received a list of some of the directors who will be stepping in to helm here, and today, we’re hearing of one more individual whose name is sure to excite fans: RZA. The rapper and longtime leader of hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan is credited as the director on episode 6 of Iron Fist‘s first season.

Though he doesn’t have a ton of experience in this particular field, RZA is sure to bring something special to the show. Anyone who’s seen The Man with the Iron Fists will know that the rapper turned director knows his way around shooting martial arts. While that film was far from perfect, it was more than enjoyable and showed promise. As such, we’re certainly excited to see what he can do with Marvel’s upcoming show.

Speaking about what RZA brought to the episode, star Finn Jones said that he has a really good vision of what he wants” and “really understands that genre, the martial arts genre. Sounds promising to us, and given that Marvel has always shown a knack for picking exciting directors, we’re confident that this will work out well for all parties involved.

Iron Fist punches its way onto Netflix on March 17th.
