Manchester United
midfielder Ashley Young is
considering offers from China and the Premier League. It is understood that
Chinese Super League club Shandong
Luneng are interested in the 31-year-old but are in no rush to compete the
deal because their domestic transfer window is open for another month.
Young has
not started a league game for United for more than two months and is now
weighing up a move to China. There is also interest from three Premier League
clubs. It is also believed that United will not be entertaining any loan deals
during the transfer window.
Shandong are
managed by former Fulham boss Felix Magath and signed Italian striker
Graziano Pelle from Southampton last summer. Former Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse also plays for the Chinese club, who are currently
third-bottom of the 16-team Super League.
Young has
made 151 competitive appearances for United since his move from Villa
five-and-a-half years ago, scoring 14 goals. Young is contracted at United for
another year-and-a-half, with the option to extend that deal by a further 12
months.
