Casting on Marvel’s ambitious new project, Inhumans, is really heating up now. After learning last week that Iwan
Rheon had landed the role of Maximus, today
we’re being told that the studio has cast Hell on Wheels‘ Anson Mount as Black Bolt, “the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so
powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.”
Jehp Loeb, Head of Marvel Television,
said “Anson loves the challenge of
playing a character who will only communicate silently, “His enthusiasm mixed
with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black
Bolt.”
Set to debut in 1,000 IMAX theaters over Labor
Day weekend before hitting
the small screen two weeks later for an eight-episode run, Inhumans will
be quite unlike anything we’ve ever seen before when it comes to superheroes on
television.
