Coach of the Home-based Super Eagles Salisu Yusuf has come out to say that his team will get better after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Plateau United in their first game at the Nigeria Professional Football League invitational tournament here in Kano.
The Super Eagles only started training for the competition on Monday and only had two sessions before the Plateau United game. They however dominated proceedings in the game but were unable to record a goal in the encounter.
He said “The players gave their best despite us having just two training sessions before the game. In these circumstances, I cannot fault their effort. It’s our first game after the WAFU Cup final against Ghana. Now we have another day to train before our next game which is good for us. I have confidence we will improve in the next game and hopefully win it too. We are not at the level we wanted but obviously with more work in training we will get there. ”
The Super Eagles will face Enyimba in their next game on Friday.
