Raheem Sterling is an honest kid, he doesn't dive - Pep Guardiola defends Sterling

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reassured Raheem Sterling his recent penalty frustrations are more of a problem for referees than himself.
Sterling was denied a penalty in Manchester City's victory at West Ham last weekend and also had a strong case turned down at Liverpool in the Champions League last month. Guardiola believes Sterling is being hampered by an unwarranted reputation for diving but the Spaniard hopes the 23-year-old will not let it affect him.

The City manager said: "Of course the people talk too much, say he is diving, and when people say that, people believe that. But he is a guy who is quite honest in those terms. He is smart, he is intelligent. He is a guy who never kicks the opponent. There was a penalty at Anfield, penalty at West Ham but the referees didn't decide to give them. But that is not Raheem Sterling's problem, it is a problem for the referees. But he has to accept it and handle it. If one person makes the wrong decision - stand up, go forward, next one. The next action is the most important thing."
