South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi crowned Miss Universe 2019

The 26-year-old Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa has been crowned the new Miss Universe after beating 89 other contestants during the pageant held at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
Zozibini Tunzi was crowned by last year's winner, Catriona Gray from the Philippines, who also spoke during Sunday's pageant, saying the past year has been "unforgettable, life-changing and purposeful."

Aside winning the crown Zozibini also won the heart of my viewers with the answer she gave to the question; “What is the most important thing you should be teaching young girls today?”

She said: leadership. It’s something that has been lacking in young girls and women for a very long time … because of what society has labeled women to be. I think we are the most powerful beings in the world, and that we should be given every opportunity, and that is what we should be teaching these young girls, to take up space. Nothing is as important as taking up space in the society and cementing yourself.”
