The
transition committee of the Federal Government headed by Vice President Namadi
Sambo has finally submitted the outgoing government’s handover notes to the
transition committee of the incoming government, headed by a former permanent
secretary, Ahmed Joda.
President-elect Muhammadu Buhari and his party, All Progressive
Congress, APC, had complained about the failure of the present government to
brief them, ahead of a formal transfer of power on Friday. Making the submission on Monday at the Presidential Villa Abuja,
Mr. Sambo said the team would be available to answer any question before the
handover of power on May 29. Mr. Sambo said the report comprises of the activities of the
Federal Government under President Jonathan between 2011 and 2015. The Vice President also said Permanent Secretaries of each
ministry have signed each page of the report to authenticate it, adding that it
was his hope that it will guide the Joda committee and the incoming government
towards the achievement of positive objectives, development and progress of
Nigeria.
In his brief remarks, the Chairman of the APC team, Mr. Joda
said his committee would examine the report before final submission to the
incoming government.
