Football: 38 Goals In One Match

Results like this doesn't come often in a regular football match of 90 minutes.
Fiji has now broken and sets a new record for the biggest victory at the Pacific Games with a 38-0 win over the  Federated States of Micronesia. The ongoing Oceania Football Confederation tournament which provides the possibility of qualification for the Rio 2016 Olympics, has recorded some high scoring games.

Federated States of Micronesia who are ineligible for qualification as they are not affiliated to the International Olympic Committee has conceded a total number of 68 goals in their two matches after Losing 30 nil in their first group A game to Tahiti.

The record for the highest numbers of goals in the Pacific Games was set by Tahiti after beating Micronesia 30-0 but with Fiji 38 goals against the same Micronesia team now makes Fiji the record holder for the Highest score at the competition.

Although this score will not stand as an official record by Fifa because the team that the goals were scored against-Micronesia are not ranked by the governing body, this means that Australia would still retain the record for the biggest victory in a Fifa-recognised football match, having beaten American Samoa 31-0 in a qualifier for the 2002 World Cup.
