Days after the demise of Ooni of Ife, Oba Sijuade, reports had it that the Abobaku fled the Ife Kingdom deterring the burial of the traditional ruler. reports also had it that the Abobaku was to be buried alongside the king but recent revelations showed that the Ife kingdom doesn't have an Abobaku.
The chiefs noted that instead of an Abobaku, the Ife kingdom only has a title called 'Shooma'.The Shooma however is not to be buried with the Ooni, this was confirmed with an illustration that the Ooni of Ife before Oba Sijuade died in 1980 while the Shooma died in 1987 which is 7 years after the Ooni's death. This means that the Shooma is left to die a natural death.
