Absolute Hearts weekly Music Review

Yes people it’s another beautiful week and we are back with the Absolute Hearts weekly Music Review and without wasting time let begin this week review. This week reviews covers 14th September to 20th September.

  1.     Iyanya:  We could say this past week was simply all about Iyanya as he released his Applaudise album. The album would be his forth studio album and here are the songs we are reviewing;

Turn up ft Olamide: A very good production by Spellz, the beat alone has giving the song a 5/10. The chorus was good, it wasn't the regular club song chorus but Olamide brought in the whole regular club feeling and that was saved the song. I rate this one 7/10

Mogbe ft Patoranking:  If you are fan of reggae then you wouldn’t have problem knowing that the underneath beat was a sample beat of Akon Gunshot. Iyanya and Patoranking really brought their A-game on this one and so far this song happens to be one of the best songs on the album. I rate this song 9/10.

Okamfo ft Lil Kesh: this is another song that has another sample beat and the beat that was sample this time was Dj Xclusive Dami si which also features Lil Kesh. The song was produced by Princeton and to be honest putting a high life feel on the beat wasn't really cool and if not for Kesh verse that the high life faded away this song would have been a flop. I rate the song 6/10.

   2.     Reminisce- Gboriduro: This song celebrates love and unity as Baba Hafusa tries to relate his emotional feeling by singing. Not a bad song I must say, good lyrics and good message and for that I give the song 7/10.

   3.     9ice: It seems the rumour that 9ice is planning of dropping a new album very soon is true. This week Mr. Alapomeji himself has three songs on the review and they are;

Faaji: DaPiano did a nice work on the production of this song and 9ice did not also disappoint has he brought his A-game. The 9ice on this song was the 9ice we knew before his political ambitions.  Faaji would get an 8/10 rating.

Agbawabura ft Akintunde: This is another song that shows that 9ice is really getting back to his old good days, very nice song and of course I mustn’t forget the little Akintunde whom impressed me so much. The rate would be 8/10

Ogara: Well when you hear a beat made by Cabasa and you hear the voice of 9ice on the beat then you know the outcome would be dope.  With this song I can say the comeback of 9ice would be Epic. 9/10

   4.    Slyde- Ginjer: If there is one thing that makes me listen to Slyde is the fact that his beating are always dope and this wasn't an exemption. For the standard of Slyde this wasn't a bad song and the rating would be 7/10.

   5.    Falz ft Reekado Banks-Celebrity Girlfriend: I don't think I have much to say when it comes to Falz, he just knows how to do song hit song. With the reggae feeling that this song has Patoranking would have done better, that is not to say Reekado didn't try, as a matter of fact he gave it his best. Rating is 7/10

   6.   Ink Edwards ft Pasuma x Falz x MI-Baddest 2.0: I didn't hear the original of this song so I can’t really say which sounds better but what I can say is that this remix makes a lot of sense. Pasuma really impressed me on this song I must say, the rating would be 8/10.

   7.   Illbliss x Blackmagic x Fefe- Funded: From what I heard this song is a soundtrack to a soon to be released movie shot and directed by Clarence Peters. When you have Oga Boss, Blackmagic and Fefe on a track and the track was produced by Kezyklef then you that song is a hit. 8/10

   8.    Olamide-Matter Arising: I would be honest minus the chorus and the production of the song which was done by Mr Pheelz, there is nothing special about this song. For the standard of Olamide this song would get a 6/10 rating.
