Celebrities Who Released Albums That Failed Miserably

It has been proved overtime that it is easy for musician or rappers to cross over to the movie industry and have a successful career but the same can’t be said for actors that try to transition into the world of musical entertainment. 
Except from Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus, we can’t really point to any other actor/actress who has been successful in music.

Today on Absolute Hearts we give you a list of celebrities both in and out the entertainment world that has tried to cross over to music but failed miserably despite their celebrity status.

1.      David Hasselhoff
David Hasselhoff decided to record and release the album titled “Jump In My Car” on October 20, 2006. The album did gather some success, debuting at number three on the UK Singles Chart though it is safe to say that this was something Hasselhoff should have kept to himself.

2.      Tyra Banks
The producer of America’s Next Top Model and former model Tyra Banks released her first and only single Shake Ya Body, in 2004. Tyra Banks admitted that even though she pursued her dream of making a song, it was a failure and not all things work out like you want them.

3.      Naomi Campbell
The Babywoman album that was released October 3, 1994 by International model Naomi Campbell was only heard in Japan because that was where it recorded success as it didn’t make the charts in the US or UK.

4.      Shaquille O’Neal
Believe it or not the big NBA star did sing at a point in life, in fact he went as far as releasing an album. The album Shaq Diesel was released on October 26, 1993 and the album had no successful singles even though it reach platinum status. It’s safe to say most people who bought the album are basketball fans, because his rap skills are seriously lacking.

5.      Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant recorded the album K.O.B.E. featuring Tyra Banks, the song was performed during the NBA All-Star Weekend. However, the song was not received well by the general public, leading Sony to abandon future music projects.

6.      Kim Kardashian
Really is there any form of entertainment Kim hasn’t done? The mother of one and expectant of another released a song titled Jam (Turn It Up) in 2011. The song was recorded for charity, but after the release Kim announced that she would pursue a full album and that was something she said she regret doing because the album was a complete flop..

7.      Eddie Murphy
In 1985 Eddie Murphy released the single Party All The Time and it was produced by the late great legendary singer Rick James. The song made it to the second position on the Billboard charts in its first week, before tanking completely.

8.      Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton released the song Turn It Up in 2006. Even though the song didn’t have much success, it reached the top position on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts.

9.      Alyssa Milano
Look In My Heart, was released March 21, 1989 by Actress Alyssa Milano and it was so bad it didn’t make the charts at all in the US.

10.  Steven Seagal
Steven Seagal released the album Songs From The Crystal Cave on May 18, 2004. Critics and fans considered this project as laughably bad.

11.  Bruce Willis
The Return of Bruno was released January 20, 1987. The album did really well in the UK, peaking at the second position on the charts. However, follow up singles did not do well and only reached the 57th position on the singles chart

12.  Jennifer Love Hewitt
She released her album Lets Go Bang on October 10, 1995. The album was thought to become a success, but because of the departure of Doug Morris, all promotion for the album was canceled.

13.  Tatyana Ali
Tatyana Ali released the album Kiss The Sky on August 25, 1998. This album did not make it to the top 100 of the Billboard 200, but did place at number 106 and number 47 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

14.  Raven Symone
Raven Symone released the album, This Is My Time on September 7, 2004. The album actually sold 57,000 copies the first week and made it to position number 51 on the Billboard 200 charts. However, it never quite became the success Raven hoped it would achieve.

15.  Scarlett Johansson
Scarlett Johansson released the album Anywhere I Lay My Head on May 16, 2008. The album was not received well and sold only 5,700 copies the first week, reaching number 126 on the Billboard 200 chart.
