Zlatan Ibrahimovic: 110 goals
in 137 appearances for PSG vs. Cristiano Ronaldo: 325 goals in 310 appearances for
Real Madrid.
The eyes of the entire
footballing world will be on Paris as two of the game's biggest stars do battle
in the Champions League. Two footballing geniuses, Ibra and CR7, who have
broken goalscoring records at two of Europe's heavyweight clubs, will take to
the pitch on
Wednesday.
Two of the greatest
goalscorers of the last decade will face each other at the Parc des Princes and
compete for three precious Champions League points.
One of them came through the
ranks at Ajax before finding success in Italy (where he had stints and made his
mark at Juventus, Inter and AC Milan) and playing a season under Guardiola at
Barcelona. He has since gone on to spend four seasons at PSG and become a
legend at France's reigning league champions, a club that is trying, chequebook
in hand, to take its success into Europe.
The other learned his trade
in Portugal before making his name at the 'Theatre of Dreams'. Now, he is a
Ballon d'Or and Golden Shoe award winner at Real Madrid. He has scored an
average of more than one goal a game in 310 appearances for the club, eclipsing
the previous records held by Di Stéfano and Raul.
