Majek Fashek "The Rainmaker" Returns

Felabration 2015 kicked off on Monday, October 12 and so far it has been dominated by great performances from top Nigerian musicians.

Yesterday, it witness Nigerian mythical reggae singer and guitarist, Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly known as Majek Fashek, he thrilled the Afrika Shrine audience with some of his popular hits as he made a stage comeback at this year’s Felabration.

It has been recalled that the legendary musician battled with drugs and alcohol abuse for years. He was eventually checked into a rehabilitation centre following a social media outcry at his deterioration. 

His stay in rehab was reportedly sponsored by popular Warri billionaire Ayiri Emani as he was confined to an Abuja rehabilitation home, Synapse Services-Centre for Psychological Medicine. Following months of battling with addiction, the celebrated ‘Rainmaker’crooner gave a striking performance on Thursday at the Felabration, an annual festival of music and arts commemorating the life and times of Nigerian’s foremost musical icon, the late great Fela Anikulakpo Kuti.

Majek’s comeback performance was no doubt a remarkable one as fans took to the social media to say it sent them into a frenzied mood.
