Has Mourinho Hit the Block Road? Chelsea In Retrospect

Chelsea FC is currently sitting in the 15th position, their worst position over a decade, and they have only accumulated only 11 points from 10 premierleague games, having lost 5games, drew 2, won 3.

 The winnings came against Aston Villa (9th game 2 - 0), Arsenal (6th game 2 - 0),West Brom (3rd game 2- 3), losses to  Westham (10th game 2 - 1), Southampton (8th game 1 - 3), Everton (5th game 3 - 1), Crystal Palace (4th game 1 - 2), Manchester City (2nd game 3 - 0) and drew games against Newcastle (7th game 2 - 2), Swansea (1st game 2 - 2).

Chelsea is yet to recover the form which made them win the premier league last season and also win the FA cup, their form in the UEFA Champions League is also on the drop as they have played 3 games, 4 points from a possible 9 points is not a vintage Mourinho which we know, won one, drew 1 and lost one and the famous lost came against his former club, FC Porto in the 2nd Match day(2 - 1), had a win against Maccabi Tel'Aviv (4 - 0), and a goalless draw in their most recent match against Dynamo Kiev, which they meet again on the 4th of November, with Chelsea hosting them, the Ukraine side are unbeaten in their three games this season, they have five points and Chelsea four.

Even in the FA Cup, Chelsea who are the defending Champions were knocked out just last Night by a Stoke side who were inspired by their captain Jon Walters who was playing his first match in the season scored for Stoke to give them the lead with an excellent strike in the 52nd minute, before Loic Remy sent the tie to extra time with a dramatic last-gasp equalizer in the 92nd minute.

The game later went on to penalty shoot outs as the two teams didn't get a winning goal, the match ended with Chelsea losing on penalties, as Hazard lost his penalty kick. Can the season get any worse than this?

Well, let's take a look back in history at Mourinho's figures to build up in winning the BPL which he won thrice with Chelsea 2004/05, 2005/06, 2014/15 season.  His first triumph came in his first year in Chelsea as he handed them their first trophy for over 50 years.

Chelsea 2004/2005 season
He won the league and also won the League cup, reached the Semi-finals of the Champions League, knocked out in the fifth round of the FA cup.
Chelsea's top scorer was Frank Lampard (13 League, 19 in all competitions).  The season was also notable for the number of records set. Fewest goals against in a Premier League season (15),already conceded 19goals from 10games this season; also in the 2004/05 season they had most clean sheets kept in a season (25) and this season only 2from 10league games; Most wins in a season (29),this is unattainable because they have lost five games and drew two games, even if the win all their remaining matches which is impossible, they will have 28wins; Most consecutive away wins (9),well this might be possible because they still have 14away games to play, and miracles can occur, and lastly the most points in a season (95), this is IMPOSSIBLE simply because IF they win their remaining 28matches 84points and they already have 11points which will equal to 95 and this is very impossible.
In the Champions League, Chelsea aimed to improve upon their semi-final placing the previous year, but in the end only matched their achievement. They also exited the FA Cup in the fifth round to eventual semi-finalists Newcastle United.

Chelsea 2005/2006 season
Mourinho performed a repeat of the previous season's feat in the English Premier League, won the league and the community shield but he failed to lead the team to proceed beyond the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League, he got the team to the Semi-final of the FA cup before being knocked out by Liverpool, and also got to the third round of the League Cup.
Chelsea's top scorer in the league was Frank Lampard (16goals) and in competitions he bagged twenty (20 goals). The 2005/06 season saw Chelsea sign Michael Essien from Lyon and Shaun Wright-Phillips from Manchester City for more than £20 million each.

Chelsea won 29games in the premier league, 3wins in the UEFA Champions League after they have played 8games, 4wins in the FA Cup after playing 5games and didn't win their first match in League Cup, Chelsea had 10 draws in the entire duration of the season, 4 in the Premier League, already they have drawn 2, so I don't tink they can match this stat;  4 in UEFA Champions League after playing 8matches, they only lost 5 Premier League matches, they have already lost that amount in the course of 10 games, they still have more matches to lose, because I don't see them going undefeated in the remaining 28games.
Here are the first team players Mourinho selected for the 2005/06 season:
1  Petr Čech
2  Glen Johnson
3  Asier del Horno
4  Claude Makélélé

Chelsea 2013/2014 season
After Mourinho left Chelsea in 2007 and his next managerial role came with Inter Milan, where he won the Serie A title and the Italian Super Cup in his first season, before Inter retained the title, won the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Champions League in a memorable 2009/10 campaign.
Jose Mourinho returned to the Barclays Premier League as manager of Chelsea on 3 June 2013, nine years and a day after getting his first taste of management in the top-flight with the same club.

In his first season back at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho guided Chelsea to third place and four points away from the title winners, Manchester City. Mourinho looked to build on his previous Champions League success and led the Blues to the semi final stage before they were defeated over two legs by Atletico Madrid.
Here are the first team players for that season
1 Petr Čech
13 Thibaut Courtois
46 Jamal Blackman
2 Branislav Ivanović
3 Filipe Luís

The 2014/15 campaign saw Mourinho secure a third League Cup triumph with Chelsea after a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley The club secured its fourth Premier League title by beating Crystal Palace on 3 May 2015.

16 December 2014(5th Round): Derby
County 1 - 3 Chelsea (Schürrle, Hazard, Filipe Luis)
Chelsea had 26 Premier League wins, 4 UEFA Champions wins and 5league cup wins, but this season, I don't see them winning 21 more games out of a possible 28 games in the premier league, and in the Champions league they were only able to proceed to the round of 16 losing to PSG by away goals. Chelsea for the entirety of last season 2014/15 season only had 9 Premier League draws, Is this possible? In my widest dreams it might?? Having drawn two out of ten, I see more draws to come. Chelsea only lost 3 Premier League in build up to their winning the Premier League, having lost 5 already, they should kiss their title hopes bye-bye.
And now this season 2015/2016

Chelsea started the season with a lost in the  2015 FA Community Shield by a lone goal against Arsenal thanks to an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain goal, their season started with this lost, after several not to impressive displays in their pre season games.
Up next is the premiership matches, Chelsea started their Premier League campaign at home against Swansea City. Swansea came from behind twice to draw 2–2 with 10 man Chelsea. Oscar gave the Blues the lead before André Ayew drew Swansea level, yet Chelsea went in 2–1 up at the break thanks to a Federico Fernández own goal. 6 minutes into the second half Thibaut
Courtois was sent off for a last man foul on Bafétimbi Gomis, and Gomis stepped up to
equalise for the Swans, Chelsea fans will not forget his jublilations so soon after the goal.
Their next point of call was Manchester City. Manchester City hammered the Blues 3–0 at the Etihad Stadium, goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho condemned José Mourinho to his joint heaviest defeat whilst in charge of Chelsea. As if that wasn't enough, at José Mourinho's 200th Premier League match, Chelsea lost 1–2 to Crystal Palace at home. The defeat was only Mourinho's second home defeat in his Chelsea career, goals from Bakary Sako and Joel Ward either side of Falcao's first goal for the Blues sent Chelsea 8 points behind leaders Manchester City, they never gave up, Mourinho after the match threw jabs at the match officials, saying they were biased and they didn't award his team a penalty in which they deserve.

At the end of August Chelsea were sitting majestically in the thirteenth position, after playing four games, having one win, one draw and two loses. They had 4points out of a possible 12points.

Their next game was against Everton.
The Blues poor form continued as they suffered another defeat, this time away at Everton. A Steven Naismith hat-trick condemned Chelsea to a third defeat after just five games, as many as they suffered in the entire previous season.
Chelsea won their first home game of the season as they defeat Maccabi Tel Aviv 4 - 0 (Willian, Oscar, Costa, Fàbregas). This victory was Chelsea's first clean sheet since the Blues won the title last March 1–0 against Crystal Palace.

They returned to the premier league against Arsenal who snatched the community shield from them and they hammered them by two goals to nil with goals from Kurt Zouma and a Calum
Chambers own goal, they were victorious over 9 man Arsenal. Gabriel Paulista and Santi Cazorla were sent off, Gabriel for kicking out at Costa and Cazorla for two yellow cards. The Blues also keep their first clean sheet of the 2015-16 Premier League season. Two days after the game, both Chelsea and Arsenal were charged with failing to control their players and Costa was charged with an act of violent conduct for the incident that started the disturbance, where he slapped Laurent Koscielny in the face, which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video. Costa was given a three-match suspension, while Gabriel had his three-match suspension withdrawn after a "wrongful dismissal claim" from Arsenal and he was available for their next match. Chelsea came from 2–0 down with 10 minutes to play to secure a point away to Newcastle United thanks to late goals from substitutes Ramires and Willian. Ayoze Pérez and Georginio Wijnaldum sent the Magpies ahead, before the Brazilian substitutes sent the Blues 5 points off the top 4. The Blues last game in September finished in a 2–1 loss to Porto, in a hard fought game Chelsea failed to claim a draw as goals from André André and Maicon sent Porto one point ahead of Chelsea.

At the end of September Chelsea moved further down into the 15th position, played 7games,2 wins, 2 draws and 3loses.

Chelsea's poor start to the season continued in October as Southampton came from behind to record a victory at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have taken only eight points from a possible 24 this season and are only four above the relegation zone. After Saturday's home defeat, Chelsea has offered their full support to manager José Mourinho. Meanwhile, Blues captain John Terry says the 52-year-old Portuguese is the best person to help the club recover from their miserable start. "If anyone is going to get us out of this hole it is going to be José Mourinho," said the 34-year-old defender.

The Blues third win came when they hosted  Aston Villa, defeating them by 2–0 at Stamford
Bridge, with a Diego Costa goal and an Alan
Hutton own goal.

Chelsea's miserable Premier League campaign continued with a 2-1 defeat at West Ham this past Saturday. Mauro Zarate fired the Hammers in front when Chelsea failed to clear a corner. Matic was sent off after being booked twice in nine minutes before the break, and Mourinho joined him after speaking to referee Jon Moss at half- time. Gary Cahill levelled from a corner but Carroll met Aaron Cresswell's cross to send the Hammers second in the table.
After ten games Chelsea has only managed to win 3games, lost 5games and drew 2games.
Their next game is against Liverpool who recently are beginning to play very well under new coach, Jurgen Klopp.
Well all my analysis brings me to these questions.
1. Can Chelsea retain their league?
2. Will Mourinho lead Chelsea till the end of the season?
3. Is the Chelsea team playing well and losing games or playing bad and they deserve to lose more games?
4. If you can choose, who's the best Chelsea player so far?
5. And lastly, Chelsea set to face Liverpool, do you think they can win?
Drop your comments and predictions and let's see if you can win a goody bag from me.
