Dustin Diamond Will Begin His Jail Sentence in January

Dustin Diamond will report to jail in January to begin serving his four-month sentence in connection with a bar fight earlier this year after dropping his appeal in the case.
The actor which is best known for playing Screech on Saved by the Bell, appeared in court Wednesday in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, where he withdrew his appeal of a disorderly conduct conviction, local stations and he will begin serving his sentence, which includes work release, on Jan. 15.

The 38 years old actor was also convicted of carrying a concealed weapon. He received 60 days in prison on each misdemeanor charge. He was found not guilty of the more serious felony charge of recklessly endangering public safety.  The incident occurred last Christmas Day in the Grand Avenue Saloon in Port Washington, Wisconsin. Diamond stabbed a man after the actor and his girlfriend allegedly had a confrontation with him.

I sincerely apologize to everyone involved, this was the single most terrifying experience of my life … This is all I've been able to think about for the last six months” Diamond said at his sentencing in June.
