Neymar Says He Might Leave Barcelona

Barcelona star Neymar has confirmed that Manchester City are interested in signing him, with the forward not ruling out a future move to the Premier League.

The 23-years old who has enjoyed a stellar calendar year with Barca winning the La Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup titles arrived back in the Spanish city on Sunday morning after enjoying a Christmas break and revealed to the media he is aware of City's interest in him. Neymar was quoted as saying “Yes, yes, I don't know, life is long” when pressed about ruling out leaving Barcelona one day.

Despite speculation Neymar current deal at the Nou Camp expires in the summer of 2018. Talks over a new contract are ongoing at present with Neymar optimistic of it being renewed. According to one Barcelona-based newspaper, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is desperate to land him from their eternal rivals. The Catalan publication claims that Neymar has become Perez's obsession as they look to make another marquee signing. According to Sport's Joaquim Piera, Perez has been continuously trying to set up a meeting with Neymar's father, Neymar Santos Snr, in an attempt to pull off the transfer he so desires and get the ball rolling on a new era that will not feature Cristiano Ronaldo or Rafa Benitez.
