#NPFL Transfer Corner
After the end of the NPFL
season last month, several clubs have been in the transfer market doing buiness,
either buying or selling.
Nevertheless, some teams have
been relegated, the likes of Sharks,
Kwara United, Taraba United and Bayelsa United have all been relegated and we
welcome Niger Tornadoes, Ikorodu United, Plateau United and MFM FC.
The league this new season
will witness two teams from Lagos (MFM and Ikorodu)
Let's take a look at the transfer
markets of the teams.
The new season has no date of
kick off yet, but the LMC are planning on making the league starts early so as
to synchronise with the European leagues.
AKWA UNITED
Akwa United are on the verge
of signing NPFL highest goal scorer Mfon Udoh back his state club.
Also, on the radar, are Abia
Warriors and Dream Team U23 midfielder Indifreke Effiong, Giwa FC Ocheme Udoh,Super
Eagles home base and Enyimba FC Ezekiel Bassey.
Godspower Effiong and Moses
Ekpai are also on the radar of Akwa United.
Akwa United will represent Nigeria
at next year CAF Confederation Cup, The Uyo based club will play in the preliminary
round of the competition against Congolese side, Club Mokanda.
A top official of the club
disclosed that “Right now 25 players out of 34 were retained for the
upcoming football season while the new head coach, Maurice Cooreman has been
asked to bring in seven – nine experienced players to beef up the team for a
successful campaign at the continent.
ENYIMBA INTERNATIONAL
NPFL champions Enyimba FC
have completed the signing of Kwara United midfielder Dare Ojo for an
undisclosed fees. Dare Ojo joined Kwara after his former team was relegated
from the NPFL after finishing on 18th position with 42points.
Also joining Enyimba FC ahead
of the new season is Olufemi Oladapo. The former Bayelsa United star who had a
stint with Belgian outfit, Anderlecht was signed to help beef the reigning
Nigerian league champions’ midfield ahead of next season continental outing.
NIGER TORNADOES
Former Sunshine Stars goalie,
Moses Ocheje is reportedly close to joining Niger Tornadoes for the new NPFL
season. Niger Tornadoes have also signed Sharks striker Daniel Jackson and Kwara
United forward Ismail Gata.
EL-KANEMI
Former Flying Eagles boss,
Isah Ladan Bosso is in talks with the management of Elkanemi Warriors to tinker
the team in the 2015/16 Nigeria.
SUNSHINE STARS
Sunshine Stars are planning
to sign Warri Wolves winger Stanley Dimgba, but no official bids yet for the
player.
Sunshine Stars also have a
new head coach Samson Unuanel and he resumed work on Monday after their former
coach Kennedy Boboye joined Abia Warriors.
